Classicagenda 8/10/2026: Du jeune Beethoven à Schachtner : le Trio Amelio ouvre un dialogue sur deux siècles
À l’occasion de sa nomination comme ECHO Rising Star 2026/2027, le Trio Amelio franchit une nouvelle étape de sa carrière internationale. Après un premier album remarqué, le jeune ensemble allemand revient avec Beethoven X Schachtner, un programme conçu comme un dialogue entre deux siècles. De l’impétueux Trio op. 1 n° 3 à l’ampleur de l’« Archiduc », en passant par la création contemporaine de Johannes X. Schachtner, Johanna Schubert, Merle Geißler et Philipp Kirchner révèlent une remarquable cohésion et une palette sonore d’une grande richesse.
Beethoven Trio op. 1 n° 3 en ut mineur - … Les contrastes dynamiques, les accents et la conduite des lignes musicales sont ciselés avec précision, sans jamais sacrifier la fluidité du discours.

Dans le finale, les trois instrumentistes déploient un esprit presque espiègle et multiplient les clins d’œil les uns envers les autres. On imagine un jeu de cache-cache, tant les trois voix se répondent avec spontanéité.
La transition vers Johannes X. Schachtner est l’un des points forts de l’enregistrement. Le Piano Trio n° 5, qui surgit presque attacca, prolonge le geste du finale beethovénien avec la même énergie et la même tension. …Le résultat est particulièrement convaincant grâce au travail du trio sur les textures, les couleurs et la richesse des sonorités.
L’« Archiduc », un sommet musical -…Le Trio Amelio s’en empare avec une grande liberté : murmures et éclats, clair et obscur, retenue et prises de risque se succèdent, tandis que les trois musiciens entremêlent leurs voix tout en soulignant la lisibilité de l’architecture.

Die Variationen im Mittelsatz, dem „Andante“, blühen in vielfältigen Gestalten auf: zart, duftig, kantabel, heiter. Geen versmelting tot één homogeen klankbeeld, maar drie stemmen die voortdurend hun onderlinge afstand exact afmeten. Die precisie maakte hun spel transparant zonder het te reduceren tot gladheid. …
Wat de uitvoering van het Amelio Trio deze namiddag zo overtuigend maakte, was de consistentie van benadering: geen stilistische wissel per werk, maar éénzelfde helderheid van luisteren die zich telkens anders materialiseerde. Ives, Beethoven en Bertelsmeier bleven duidelijk onderscheiden, maar werden vanuit dezelfde concentratie benaderd…. Maar boven alles blijft het beeld hangen van drie musici die elkaar al jaren blindelings aanvoelen. This year’s ECHO Rising Stars are the Amelio Trio, violinist Ava Bahari, Javus Quartet, cellist Petar Pejčić and sopranos Camila Mandillo and Elionor Martinez.
The Amelio Trio was nominated by Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Kölner Philharmonie, Barbican Centre and Philharmonie Luxembourg. Based in Germany, the trio, comprising violinist Johanna Schubert, cellist Merle Geißler and pianist Philipp Kirchner, was formed in 2012 when the members were only 13 years old.
The trio won second prize at the ARD Music Competition in 2023, the Grand Prize of the German Music Competition 2024, and the first prize at the International Schumann Chamber Music Prize Frankfurt 2022. The Amelio Trio is ensemble in residence at ProQuartet – Centre Européen de Musique de Chambre in Paris 2023-25. The Strad
